Sanford spokesman: ‘Governor has no interest in Bauer sexuality, is focused on H1N1 preparedness.’

Governor Sanford on Jake Knotts letter allegations:

“This letter is simply wrong – and in that regard, as bizarre as many of the other claims and attacks of recent weeks. Some have even argued this indeed points to an obsession with slandering anyone who tries to change the “good ol’ boy” system of politics in Columbia.

South Carolina is facing serious challenges, and the Governor is dedicated to addressing these challenges alongside other members of the legislature committed to the same. We have a state capital with too much spending, too little transparency, and as shown by this letter, at times too many political attacks.”

Governor Sanford on N1H1 and SC Preparedness:

“We’d first urge caution and diligence with regard to any potential spread of the H1N1 virus in South Carolina. On the personal and indeed family level, all of our individual actions – from washing hands to covering coughs – can in large part help halt the spread of this flu in our communities. That said, I will be meeting with experts at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control later today to specifically map out a plan for stage government’s role in a response, and indeed more importantly, for our preparation and prevention of H1N1 this coming flu season.”

Andre is getting terrible advice. Why in the world would Knotts go out and make a small rumor a mainstream news story.

It just is foolish. Knotts and BAuer are not ready for prime time.

It’;s amazing! Everyone is free to make whatever allegations against the governor they want but the governor is not entitled to demand transparency on the record and actions of his accusers? Let’s not let defendants have attorneys in court cases–just as reasonable!

For sake of argument, it has long been alleged, but apparently not investigated, that Sen. Knotts, in his past life as a police officer, loved to beat up drunks he ran across. It has also been alleged that he is a vicious politician that does not forget perceived wrongs against him and will take every action possible to retaliate for any perceived wrong. Maybe he should be investigated for deals made with his supporters and the state.

Folks, let the investigative process be applied to all legislators and elected officials. This won’t solve any problems the state faces but it will divert attention away from them. It may also help THE STATE newspaper with their financial problems.

Who knew Bauer was gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Andre Bauer may or may not be gay, but he certainly is dumb to put that porker Jake Knotts in front of a camera.

I wonder if a 7th grader wrote that letter. It is filled with errors and probably covered with pork grease.

Is it true that Jakie and Andre have taken to wearing matching ties?

I fill this is a bad move on the part of Andre Bauer. I do not believe now is the time for a gay man to try to run for office. Maybe in 8 years or so. In SC we are not very progresive in this area and he may have mad his move to soon.
