List of Senators who voted against the Immigration bill

May 15, 2008

The Immigration reform bill has been a disaster. At least now we know which Senators are for Immigration reform and those who oppose it. When the bill came up for a vote in the Senate on immigration reform here is how the Senators voted on it. An Aye vote is in favor of immigration reform and a Nay vote is those Senators who vote against immigration reform.

The ones in bold are Republicans who voted against illegal immigration reform. Of those 4 two of them have Republican primary opposition Jakie Knotts and Luke Rankin. I would encourage you to vote them out of office and help their opponents.

Editors note: How hard is this, you are costing our great State of South Carolina jobs for the legal and legal revenues at the expense of the poor, get your act together, they are illegal aliens period!

Urging voters to throw someone out of office over one vote betrays ignorance.

This is a federal issue as well as our state. Immigration is a legal process. Illegal immigrants are breaking the law. 40% of the illegal issue are those who have overstayed their visa. Until that is made a felony and not a misdemenor, who cares? If made a felony at least the sherriffs would have a reason to round up folks who need to be deported or at least investigated. The border must be secured. If you want to stew a rabbit you must first close the doors. In the mean time all the expense to support illegal people i.e., schools, health care, housing, etc. should be tallied up and that amount should be reduced from foreighn aid and discounted in trade.

To all my friends in Lexington Dump Knotts, vote for KATRINA SHEALY 06-10-2008.
If we as citizens broke the law with forged IDs, we would be thrown in jail.

Also thanks jeffrey Sewell how vote was cast!

But isn’t Senator Billy O’Dell a Republican? I believe he switched parties. However if you are going to point the few GOP members of the Senate who voted against it you should include him to be fair.

Its my understanding that this bill included GRANTING AMNESTY TO OVER 12 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. This us unacceptable and those that voted for the bill should be thrown out of office. This kind of irresponsible legislation is going to DESTROY AMERICA as we know it. The last time we granted amnesty, it was estimated to be for 2 millon illegal immigrants. In the end, it wound up being about three times that many- 6 million. Those 6 million then brought their extended families here. Another result- over the next two decades, millions of illegals flooded across the boarder hoping that they too would eventually get amnesty. If history repeats itself, and we do not learn from our mistakes, up to 36 million illegals would have gotten amnesty under this bill. They are taking over the southern states, many don’t want to learn english, and they will eventually vote for candidates that will give them whatever they want. We cannot allow this to happen! Vote those that supported this bill and amnesty to illegals out of office! Thank you!

I do not agree with you because what about the jobs that i am sure you wouldn’t do, that all immigrants do. why don’t you look at the fruit you eat and think about who harvested for you, they work every fay for less than the minimum of wages. The only reason they come here is to work and have a better life and not all of them are abusive or ignorant about who to vote for in case of an amnesty. In fact the English-learning issue could be changed if it was required in order to become legal and the reason for them not to learn English is not that they don’t want to but how difficult it is to learn a new language. Now i ask you, do you think is fair for these people to be explode just because their legal situation?
I am 16 years old, I was born in this country too and I know i have lots of things to learn but I am sure that my opinion about this issue will not change over the years or the ignorant people who believe that is a crime to work hard.

I wish more had voted against that bill. We do not believe it’s a crime to work hard, We have people with masters degrees cleaning floors, working on cars, working on farms. You have schools in Mexico, the illegals that have band together to fight for us to pay there way for health care and schools so that they could send and spend our money in Mexico. So that they could sell drugs in America. That’s what it’s really about! You need to go back to Mexico and fight for Your rights there, with a little hard work You could get it Done!
