Negative campaigning alert Hotline setup

January 7, 2008

Today SCHotline.com has established a state wide negative campaigning alert hotline. You may call and report any instance of negative campaigning 24 hours a day from now until the primary. The phone number is 1-800-236-1386. We also have set up a fax number to receive copies of negative mailpieces 803-753-9095. You may also email us at admin@schotline.com.

We will take your report and turn it over to the proper authorities.

Please give us as much detail as you can regarding when you saw, heard or received the negative campaigning. If you have a recording of the voice mail you received you may record it on our 800 number. Please give us the caller ID of the person making the call as well.

“The only way to stop negative campaigning is to expose it to the sunlight,” said Mike Green, editor of SCHotline.com. “They will scurry just like roaches do when you turn the light on them.”

This hotline is monitored twenty fours a day. You anonymity will be respected. Please give us as much detail as you can and remember no detail is to small.

It doesn’t have to do with robocalls or mail or anything. But in the Irmo/Chapin/Dutch Fork area, at least 40 percent of the Rudy signs that have been put out have been taken down. Many of these areas were around other candidate signs (mainly Romney) so it didn’t have anything to do with placement. Very odd, considering Rudy isn’t really even competing here.

Congratulations on your efforts to root out negative campaigning in our state. Not only does it hurt candidates, but it also turns off voters and discourages them from participating on our democratic processes. We can’t let that happen to our precious American democracy. Thanks for all you do.

I would like to see the media pick up on Ron Paul. I don’t see any negative reporting on him. I believe he is being snubbed by not only the media, but by the Republican Party as well. That is a shame because he is really the best candidate on the Republican side. He is a true Contitutionalist and we need men like him to get our country back on track.

I have received multiple calls from “out of area” with the number, 1-800-000-0000 on my caller ID, but when I pick up there is no message. I was hoping to get some negative push polls, especially if isn’t a recording. What fun! I think all this politics is very exciting, negative or not.

Those of you who are “turned off” by negative ads and push polls should move to China. There are no negative ads or push polls in China and you wouldn’t be exposed to the evils of politics. If the negative ads keep you from voting, you don’t deserve to vote. The freedom to criticize our political candidates was purchased by the blood of our soldiers!

I received a phone message today with negative information about Fred Thompson that I know is not true. The message left attempts to implicate Sen. Thompson in voting for govt. spending for procedures that are counter to his pro-life position and twists votes for Clinton era appointees views unfairly onto Thompson. I plan to vote for Fred now because of this call. Before the call I was not so sure. I’m sure all of the experts will decide who is behind it but I bet it’s those outside groups supporting Huckabee.

Huckabee is not pro-life. As governor, he appointed Carolyn Pollan as his own liaison to the AR House. In her previous position as a state Representative, Pollan supported every “pro-choice” piece that came up and was a vocal advocate for “choice”. Pro- Life huh Mike!????? Again, no walk to the talk! Do the people want the Constitution & States Rights OR Kool-aid? Plenty offer Kool-Aid. Only one candidate offers AMERICA as a free republic with Constitutional limitations of government to protect persons born & pre-born. You know who. It’s that “kook” Ron Paul. Kool-Aid or the Constitution???
