U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has betrayed the people
May 24, 2007
Dear Editor,
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has betrayed the people he represents in Washington, DC. When I spoke with him prior to the S.C. Republican Party’s State Convention on May 19, he called our country a democracy when the Constitution clearly says we have a republican form of government (Article IV, Section 4). Although the Constitution gives no special rights to a select group of elected officials, he said engaging in the “Gang of 14″ was the “best thing” he’d ever done. He has become deluded into thinking that the way to fix laws that are not being enforced is to create another law. He has sold out the freedom, liberty and privacy of South Carolinians by supporting a national ID card consolidating all personal accounts in one spot for anyone to hack. His way of dealing with illegal aliens is to offer them amnesty. I found him unsympathetic and unresponsive to my concerns as his constituent. It is time to replace him with a South Carolinian who will truly “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”.
Sincerely,
Vicki L. Simons
Amnesty and the losing of United States Sovereignty
May 24, 2007
Our US Senate is debating an important issue, Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007. It would grant millions of ILLEGAL aliens the right to stay in the U.S.
In a excerpt reported in the World Net Daily a web based news organization “It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico, which will lead to reduced migration,”
Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) using Senate Immigration bill S.1348 advances the cause of the North American Union (NAU), the merger of Canada / United States / Mexico [a la the European Union]
In its current form, the bill offers probationary legal status to the estimated 20 million illegal aliens who were in the U.S. before Jan. 1, 2007. Those who then meet a series of requirements including payment of a $5,000 fine and $2,000 in processing fees could gain citizenship within an estimated 12 to 13 years. This would allow ILLEGAL aliens to “come out of the shadows” and will qualify them for a special visa if they “pass a strict background check, pay a fine, hold a job, maintain a clean criminal record and eventually learn English.” To become citizens, the ILLEGAL aliens must pay an additional fine, go to the back of the line of applications, pass a citizenship test, and return to their country to apply for their green card. Among other provisions it would increase hiring of Border Patrol officers and establish a temporary worker program. Illegal aliens would be allowed to come forward and obtain a “Z visa” that puts them on a track for permanent residency within eight to 13 years. Heads of household first must return to their home countries. The illegal aliens would be able to obtain a probationary card right away to live and work in the U.S.
Do you really think the illegal immigrants are going to pay the fines and jump through hoops when our borders are going to be opened? I do not think so. In my opinion the entire North American Union AND (S.134
must and should be scrapped.
President Bush and our US Senate are heading down a trail that will eliminate American Sovereignty. The Rule of law, which has been the basis of our society for over 200 years, will no longer have any meaning moving the American citizens and legal immigrants to a status of second-rate citizens because we do abide by the Rule of Law.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, called the deal “amnesty – a pardon and reward for lawbreakers.” “Many senators claim that their deal renews respect for the rule of law,” King said. “Let me respond to that absurd statement by stating clearly, you cannot simultaneously tear down and rebuild one of our constitutional principles. I took an oath to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. The price for amnesty is the sacrifice of the rule of law.” King, ranking Republican on the Immigration Subcommittee of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, said each of the senators who struck the deal “should wear a scarlet letter ‘A’ for amnesty.”
In the Webster’s dictionary Amnesty transitive verb in criminal law, sovereign act of oblivion or forgetfulness (from Greek amnesia) for past acts, granted by a government to persons who have been guilty of crimes. It is often conditional upon their return to obedience and duty within a prescribed period. Amnesty is granted usually for political crimes against the state, such as treason, sedition, or rebellion. Amnesty is the act of an authority (as a government) by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals.
South Carolina’s Republican Senator Jim DeMint, also was quick to label the bill “amnesty.” The senator said it “rewards people who broke the law with permanent legal status and puts them ahead of millions of law-abiding immigrants waiting to come to America.” “I don’t care how you try to spin it, this is amnesty,” DeMint said.
Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., a major shaker and mover called the deal “the best possible chance we will have in years to secure our borders and bring millions of people out of the shadows and into the sunshine of America. Compare those words of Mr. Kennedy to the words by him in 1986 regarding the amnesty bill passed back then: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”
Americans will lose by getting an immediate amnesty for nearly all 20 million illegal aliens who will get legal status for residence and jobs, with assurance of green cards no later than 13 years. Americans will lose by a tripling of the rate of chain migration of extended family from around 250,000 a year to around 750,000 a year for about a decade. Americans will lose by getting new flows of 400,000 temporary foreign workers each year, bringing their families and having anchor babies who will be given U.S. citizenship. Americans will lose because we are required to live by the rule of law but Illegal aliens are not.
In exchange Americans will get mandatory workplace verification with extra enforcement, to try to slow the flow of the next 12 million illegal aliens enticed by the amnesty. This will cause driving up the cost for law enforcement and health care benefits to current American citizens. Americans will lose, more of our jobs will be taken.
Once this Amnesty bill goes through the next bill is rumored to possibly use the horrific socialist health care system of Canada and extend our liability to pay for Illegal Aliens coming up from Mexico and down from Canada. It will be crafted to pay for these benefits and for our struggling Social Security system. Our Jails would increase in population because the illegal aliens have NO standard for the Rule of Law.
At this moment, the only Senators whom are relatively certain opposing this new amnesty
are Vitter R-La., Allard R-Colo., Grassley R-Iowa, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-SC, Enzi R-Wyo., Crapo R-Idaho, Sessions R-Ala., Chambliss R-Ga.
Yes, The US Senate is the correct way to debate this Act. It should NOT be legislated by liberal left judges. YES this bill and Act should be thrown out to protect The United States Sovereignty. Yes, we should call and voice our concerns. …Till next time.

Inside the festivities of the SC Republican Party meetings May 2007 5-19-2007
By Louis Neiger, CLU
The week of 5-14 started Monday evening with The Silver Elephant with an overflowing sit down dinner of South Carolina Republican shakers and movers. Sean Hannity, a Fox News TV and Clear Channel radio broadcaster, was the keynote speaker. He showed actual video footage of many Democratic Senators and leaders such as John Kerry and Ted Kennedy as far back as mid to late Clinton years stating support of going after Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction. Sean than showed video footage from 2006 to 2007 where these same people denied there were ever any weapons of mass destruction and that they had been deceived by the current President Bush. Hannity reminded us we were attacked again on 9/11 after several other attacks under the Clinton administration including the first attack on the world trade center February 26,1993. His message was that the media and the Democratic Party are trying to deceive and give a distorted view of what actually happened. With communication, the Internet, and the ability to access the speeches and comments of any elected official from the early 1990s to present, it is possible to go back and see exactly what was said at any given time and run it alongside what is presently being said. The current statements of Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton and many more on the democratic side of the isle are 180 degrees different from what they said previously. These people were given and made their assessments based on the same information available to President Bush. By claiming ignorance they are either incompetent at best or dishonest at worst.
Tuesday Night the Republican Presidential debate at the Kroger Center in Columbia sponsored by Fox News was a sold out event. I was a guest of a presidential campaign. We saw stark differences. Rudy Giuliani defended being pro abortion and allowing same sex unions. He also took exception to Ron Paul’s statement that we are responsible for the 9/11 attacks and that if we were isolationist this would not have happened. Sam Brownback, Duncan Hunter, Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo and Mitt Romney all defended traditional family values and the belief along with Giuliani that we must win the war in Iraq and against the terrorist world wide or we will be fighting them in our own streets.
At the debate the candidates were given a scenario that the United States had just had 3 shopping centers have nuclear bombs go off, thousands were dead or injured. The US had captured some of those responsible and sent them to Guantanamo Bay. The captured bombers had information about future attacks that were imminent. The candidates were asked what they would do to extract information from those responsible. There were comments about not using torture and the usual dancing around the subject. Tom Tancredo, however, nearly received a standing ovation when he said that if we had 3 cities nuked and more on the way he would not be concerned about water boarding that he would be looking for Jack Bauer of Fox TV Show 24. For those who may not know of Jack Bauer he is a patriot to the core, not afraid of anything, willing to lay down his own life but if you have information that will save lives he would be your worst nightmare.
I was glad to see the energized Republican majority at the South Carolina State Convention, on Saturday May 19th, confirm again the platform protecting property rights, the right to life, ethics in government, marriage of one man one woman, family values, and religious liberty. The Party’s stand against pornography and obscenity was also confirmed again. Peace through strength, the right to bear arms and a firm stand for the United States sovereignty were reconfirmed. The party also recognizes the stewardship of the earth to be one of the chief responsibilities of mankind and protection of our natural resources as a sacred trust. The platform also has addressed issues of health care, senior citizens and welfare reform just to name a few.
The “Republican Creed” states:
I do not choose to be a common man.
It is my right to be uncommon.
If I can seek opportunity, not security,
I want to take the calculated risk to dream and build,
to fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for dole.
I prefer the challenges of life to guaranteed security,
The thrill of fulfillment to the state of calm utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence,
nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master, save my God.
It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid.
To think and act for my self, enjoy the benefit of my creations.
To face the whole world boldly and say,
“I am a free American.”
I find as I speak to most of people around South Carolina no matter what party they lean toward they do agree with the Creed in principle.
We must keep all of our Elected leaders in prayer for guidance and protection in leading. We stand at a critical time in our nation’s history. I believe with God’s help we will be victorious!
